We are Team Mountaineers!
WVU’s award-winning University Rover Challenge (URC) team. We design, build, and test a Mars-style rover and compete annually in Utah against teams from around the world.
We are an interdisciplinary team with students from a variety of backgrounds and robotics experience. Most members are capstone majors in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace (MAE) Engineering or the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Approximately 1/3 of the team consists of non-capstone students who volunteer or earn tech elective credit.
The team benefits from the involvement of graduate students who work in WVU's Interactive Robotics Laboratory (IRL) and faculty from a variety of backgrounds. The team is also associated with the WVU Robotics Club, allowing members to collaborate and share resources, ideas, and expertise with other robotics teams across campus.
